It's OK to not be OK

Crisis isn’t permanent It’s hard to see solutions when you are in crisis, but they do exist. Having feelings of fear, depression, anxiety, anger, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or thoughts of harming others is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s something to get help for. Do not delay, get relief with our full range of crisis services.

Crisis Services

Anyone in crisis — regardless of insurance — can call our 24 hour Crisis Line 800.284.8288 or walk into our Access Center and meet with a qualifed Clinician. The Access Clinician will connect you with community resources and/or services.

Who should use our Crisis Services?

  • Those that are experiencing behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric crises
  • Those that have the ability to speak, understand and participate in proposed interventions

Who should NOT use Crisis Services?

Those who are currently under the influence of drugs or alcohol. These individuals should visit a detox facility before coming to LifeWays for services.

Crisis R&R

Crisis R&R is a a calm and safe environment where adults in mental health crisis can be supported in their recovery.
Crisis R&R is:

  • An emergency department alternative
  • A comfortable space
  • A judgment free zone
  • A place to rest and relax
  • A place to collect your thoughts
  • A safe place to bounce back from a crisis

Crisis R&R Services

  • Crisis intervention
  • Support and mentoring from peers
  • Expert support from crisis staff
  • Help with problem solving & coping skills
  • Referrals to community resources for:
    • Medicaid Enrollment
    • Housing
    • Food Assistance
    • Mental Health Services

Mobile Crisis Team

If you are in crisis and cannot get to LifeWays
help can come to you!

The Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) is a team of two
that provides intense, crisis intervention at your
home or elsewhere in the community where you
feel comfortable. When medically necessary, the
team can connect you to psychiatric services or
bring you into Crisis R&R.

Mobile Crisis Team Steps

  1. You call the Crisis Line at 
         800.284.8288
  2. A team of two responds to your home or another community location
  3. MCT provides crisis intervention services
  4. MCT reviews the current crisis plan and recommends appropriate changes and develops a safety plan,
        as needed
  5. After the crisis, MCT follows up with you, as needed.

Intensive Crisis Stabilization Services (ICSS)

If your child, aged birth to 21 years, is
experiencing a crisis the mobile Intensive Crisis
Stabilization Services (ICSS) Team can respond
to your home.

ICSS are structured treatment and support
activities designed to address a crisis for youth
with serious emotional disturbance (SED),
intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD), or
co-occurring substance use disorder (SUD).

  • De-escalation of the crisis
  • Crisis and safety planning
  • Intensive individual counseling (ICSS Only)
  • Family therapy (ICSS Only)
  • Coping skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Mental health education
  • Referrals to other community resources

Regardless of your insurance, if you are having symptoms of a mental health crisis, thinking of self harm, suicide or harming others, Crisis R&R, Mobile Crisis Team and ICSS are available Monday through Friday 10 am to 7 pm. Our Crisis Line is available 24/7 at 1.888.284.8288.
