 It’s OK to not be OK. Help is available! â€‹

Crisis isn’t permanent. It’s hard to see solutions when you are in crisis, but they do exist. Having feelings of fear, depression, anxiety, anger, thoughts of self-harm, suicide, or harming others is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s something to get help for. Do not delay; get relief with our full range of crisis services. All of our crisis services are regardless of insurance.

Who should use our Crisis Services?

  • Anyone experiencing behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric crises.
  • Anyone who can speak, understand and participate in proposed interventions.

24-Hour Crisis Line

Anyone in crisis — regardless of insurance — can call our 24-Hour Crisis Line at (800) 284-8288. 

Crisis R&R​

Crisis R&R is a calm and safe environment where adults in mental health crisis can be supported in their recovery. You walk right in to this living room model crisis program. You will be greeted by a Peer Support Specialist, someone who has been in a mental health crisis and is in recovery. You will also work with a Crisis Clinician to develop a safety plan.

Crisis R&R is:

  • An emergency department alternative
  • A comfortable space
  • A judgment free zone
  • A place to rest and relax
  • A place to collect your thoughts
  • A safe place to bounce back from a crisis

Crisis R&R Services

  • Crisis intervention
  • Support and mentoring from peers
  • Expert support from crisis staff
  • Help with problem solving and coping skills
  • Referrals to community resources for:
    • Medicaid Enrollment
    • Emergency Housing
    • Food Assistance
    • Mental Health Services

Mobile Crisis Team

If you are in crisis and cannot get to LifeWays, help can come to you! The Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) is a team that provides intense, crisis intervention at your home or elsewhere in the community where you feel comfortable. When medically necessary, the team can connect you to psychiatric services or bring you into Crisis R&R. 


Intensive Crisis Stabilization Services (ICSS)

A youth with feelings of fear, depression, anxiety, anger, thoughts of self-harm, suicide, or harming others is nothing to be ashamed of. If a youth, up to age 21, is experiencing a behavioral, emotional, or psychiatric crisis the Intensive Crisis Stabilization Services (ICSS) team can respond to your home, school or another community location — regardless of insurance.


Mobile Crisis Team/ICSS Steps

  1. You call the Crisis Line at (800) 284-8288
  2. A team responds to your home, school or another community location
  3. MCT/ICSS provides crisis intervention services
  4. MCT/ICSS develops a safety plan, stabilizes and prepares you for your next appointment
  5. After the crisis, MCT/ICSS follows up with you, as needed
