prevention and wellness logoLifeWays Prevention & Wellness Team support the connection between mental health and physical health. Our wellness programs are designed around the Eight Dimensions of Wellness:

Wellness Wednesdays

This is an 8-week program focuses on nutrition and exercise for healthy living. This class requires registration for the whole course. Weekly attendance is important for success. This program begins with an educational wellness class followed by a fitness class.

  • 11:00am to 1:00pm - Session 1
  • 1:00pm to 1:30 pm - Lunch
  • 1:30pm to 3:30pm - Session 2

Classes are held at the YMCA of Jackson Downtown, 127 W. Wesley St., Jackson, MI 49201. Registration required and consumers must attend all 8 sessions. Consumers may choose between session 1 or 2. A new session starts every 4 weeks. All participants get lunch. Please wear or bring athletic shoes.

Stress Less Events

Stress affects us all but with the right coping skills we can decrease the negative effect on our mental health. Come join LifeWays in our weekly stress less activities including music therapy and art classes to reduce stress. Participate in fun activities, eat healthy snacks and learn about community resources to decrease stress!
Each class is different. This is a drop-in style class. No reservations are required. Open to the public!

Tobacco & You: Learn How to Quit Smoking

This 10-week drop-in style group focuses on the effects of smoking to help you quit. Open to the public.

Exercise With Us

Meet up with the LifeWays group to walk around Cascades every Tuesday at 1 PM. We meet at the falls, by the big pavilion. Drop in whenever you can. No registration required. Free to attend.

inSHAPE is an individualized wellness program. All appointments are made individually with a Wellness Coach. Through this program, individuals receive free personal training sessions, education and support to work towards healthy goals.This program is exclusively for HealthyMe participants.
